Upon looking up mentos on wikipedia to find out where they're made and what flavours exist, I learned that dropping a mentos into a bottle of carbonated liquid causes rapid foaming of the liquid. Apparently there's a mythbusters episode where they investigate this and they manage to get a 30 foot geyser of foam and launch a bottle rocket 20 feet in the air with the aid of a mentos. They also determine that eating a mentos and drinking pop will not produce enough gas to rupture your stomache and kill you, but it will often cause vomiting.
I think I need to try this experiment and/or find this episode of mythbusters.
